Blessings abound

What a blessing we had this Thanksgiving, celebrating with family from all over, and even though we missed having our kids here we rejoiced in the celebration they shared with new friends. To God be the glory. Now we look forward with great anticipation to celebrating the birth of our savior.

Reflecting

Reflecting....on all that God has provided for me. My husband and I are about to celebrate 30 years together. Where have the years gone? 30 + years ago we were young, timid and eager to conquer the world. We fell in love and got married at 19 with the odds stacked against us and all the ups and downs of life, we committed to make it work and look at us now. We have laughed, cried, fought, made-up, been silly, frustrated, hurt, overjoyed, speechless, and most of all in love with each other all these years. We raised 2 amazing children, watched our children marry, welcomed our in-laws, lost loved ones, applauded accomplishments, comforted heartache, made mistakes, forgave, moved, changed jobs, made and lost friends, said farewell as our son and daughter-in-law moved away, yet through it all God has been in control of our lives and been our driving force in all we do. Everything that has happened in our lives over the years has made us the strong, loving couple we are today. I am the luckiest lady in the world to be married to my best friend. Thank you Lord for being the constant in our world. Thank you for loving us so much. Thank you for being the tie that binds us together.

Take time to enjoy.....

Another summer is coming to a close, the beautiful colors and smells of the garden are fading away. Take time to enjoy......whatever it is you love while you have the chance. Do not put off until tomorrow what you could do today. Have no regrets. Give everything you do your best, don't put yourself in the position of saying "I wish I had done....". Love what you have, serve where you are, live your life to the fullest. If we wish away our todays, tomorrow may never come.

We have this gardenia bush in our backyard, it is one of the most memorable smells to me, everytime I walk by it and STOP so I can smell it and remember. The flowers don't last long, if I were to just pass by and be too busy or not care, I would miss out. Join God where He is working so as to not miss out on the blessings He has in store for you.

Wondering Why?

Have you ever been in that place where you wondered why? I have, and I am trying to figure out what I am to learn while going through this trial. When disappointment comes, and heartache happens and prayers seem unheard, what can I do? I can run to the LORD and PRAY, nothing can heal my heart better or calm my anxiety better that being in the presence of my LORD. If GOD knows all about me, what will happen, and He can see the big picture, than I need to trust HIM with all I am. I must always remember that HE loves those I love even more, therefore HE will do what is best for those HE loves. Best does not always mean easy, if life was easy I would have no need to cling to my LORD. HE wants me to be dependent upon  HIM. Trust the LORD with all your heart, soul and mind and lean not on you own understanding. When life doesn't make sense GOD does. Thank you LORD for making sense out of the chaos. I love you.
